Why Tripe? Research has shown that the calcium to phosphorous ratio in green tripe is just right for the development of good bones and joints. Also present in green tripe are essential fatty acids in the recommended proportions as well as Lactobacillus Acidophilus, a good intestinal bacterium for digestion. Taurine for cats is indispensable due to its formation of bilary salts in them, necessary for good digestion of fats in the small intestine. Unlike other species, cats cannot us another amino acid other than taurine for this function.
